Join Zetrix as an AI Research Lead and help shape the AI capabilities behind our next generation of digital products. You'll lead the exploration, evaluation, and application of modern AI technologies, turning research and emerging models into practical solutions that create real product value.

You'll work closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to identify opportunities for AI, validate new approaches, and guide AI initiatives from experimentation to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and experimentation across LLMs, generative AI, machine learning, and emerging AI technologies.

• Evaluate new AI models, frameworks, APIs, and techniques for real-world product applications.

• Design and run experiments to compare model quality, performance, cost, latency, and reliability.

• Translate research findings into practical product and engineering recommendations.

• Develop prototypes and proofs-of-concept to validate new AI capabilities.

• Define evaluation methodologies, benchmarks, and success metrics for AI-powered features.

• Work closely with backend, mobile, and product teams to integrate AI capabilities into production products.

• Research approaches for prompt engineering, structured outputs, RAG, embeddings, agents, and AI automation.

• Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of existing AI systems.

• Stay current with developments in AI research, models, tooling, and industry best practices.

• Provide technical direction for AI initiatives and help define the long-term AI strategy at Zetrix.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to building strong AI knowledge across the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, research engineering, or related technical roles.

• Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and modern generative AI systems.

• Hands-on experience working with large language models and LLM-based applications.

• Strong Python programming skills and experience with AI and machine learning libraries.

• Experience designing experiments and evaluating AI models using measurable benchmarks.

• Understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, and model evaluation.

• Experience working with AI APIs and open-source models.

• Ability to turn research concepts into practical prototypes and production-ready solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

• Ability to lead technical initiatives and work independently in a fast-moving AI environment.

Will Be a Plus

• Experience fine-tuning or adapting large language models.

• Experience with multimodal AI across text, audio, image, or video.

• Experience building AI agents and tool-using systems.

• Knowledge of model optimization, inference performance, and AI infrastructure.

• Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar AI frameworks.

• Experience with vector databases and semantic search systems.

• Experience deploying AI workloads on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

• Experience working with speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or computer vision technologies.

• Experience publishing AI research, contributing to open-source projects, or conducting applied research.

• Previous experience leading or mentoring AI or machine learning engineers.
